Qualifications

• Several years of experience in heat exchanger applications or thermal systems.
• Deep understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid dynamics and industrial processes.
• Experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or proposal engineering is preferred.
• University degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements to develop optimised heat exchanger solutions, including thermal design and material selection.
• Prepare accurate technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and manufacturable, aligned with performance and cost targets.
• Collaborate with sales, project management and engineering teams to support tendering and order execution.
• Contribute to technology vision in heat exchanger applications and related processes.
• Support development of product competitiveness through technical improvements and innovation.
• Build and share expertise within the heat exchanger area and participate in cross-regional knowledge exchange.

We seek an Application Specialist - Heat Transfer to join a global company in Lund, Sweden.

Job Summary

The Application Specialist - Heat Transfer is responsible for delivering fit‑for‑purpose technical solutions and quotations to internal stakeholders, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with customer needs and company strategy. Acting as a key technologist within the heat exchanger domain, this role contributes to the development, application, and optimisation of technologies. The role secures technical excellence in solution design while supporting project execution, knowledge development, and continuous improvement of methods, standards, and practices.

What You Will Do

Application & Commercial Support

• Analyze customer and internal stakeholder requirements to develop optimised heat exchanger solutions (thermal design, material selection, configuration).
• Prepare accurate and competitive technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Ensure solutions are fit‑for‑purpose, manufacturable, and aligned with performance and cost targets.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to support tendering and order execution.

Technology & Product Contribution

• Contribute to technology vision upon request, particularly within heat exchanger applications and related process technologies.
• Assure correct selection and application of heat exchanger technologies in projects and processes.
• Support development of product competitiveness through technical improvements and innovation.
• Contribute to technology value creation, including intellectual property (IPR) awareness and input.

Competence Development & Knowledge Sharing

• Build, share, and develop expertise within the heat exchanger competence area (e.g., thermal calculations, fouling behaviour, hygienic design).
• Participate in internal networks and actively contribute to knowledge exchange across functions and regions.
• Support key competence mapping and continuous development of technical capabilities.

Process Improvement & Standards

• Contribute to setting and improving standards, guidelines and best practices in application engineering.
• Identify improvement opportunities in tools, methods and processes for quotation and design.
• Support resolution of technical issues and apply lessons learned to future solutions.

We Believe You Have

• Several years of experience developing expertise in heat exchanger applications, thermal systems, or process engineering.
• Deep understanding of heat transfer principles, fluid dynamics, and industrial process requirements (e.g., food, dairy, beverage or similar industries).
• Experience in technical sales support, application engineering, or proposal engineering is highly preferred.
• University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear and practical solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience working cross‑functionally in an international organisation is an advantage.

This is a full‑time consultant assignment through Incluso, starting in September 2026. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of extension. The position is fully on‑site in Lund.
