Job description

Are you passionate about data, analytics and AI and ready to turn technology into real business value?

Burger King is looking for an Analytics & AI Engineer who wants to strengthen our capabilities within Business Intelligence, data engineering and AI-driven analytics. You will play an important role in developing our data platform, building intelligent reporting solutions and exploring how AI can create smarter ways of working across our business.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on technical development with innovation, helping shape the future of data and AI across our Scandinavian organisation.

Who are we?

Burger King is one of the world's most iconic restaurant brands, known for our flame-grilled burgers and unique flavours. We operate more than 290 restaurants across Sweden, Denmark and Norway and are a business in constant development.

Every day, we work to improve our restaurants, create value for our franchisees and deliver great guest experiences. Data, technology and digital solutions play an increasingly important role in how we operate, make decisions and develop our business.

We are now looking for an Analytics & AI Engineer who wants to help strengthen our digital capabilities and drive the next step in our Business Intelligence and AI journey.

As our Analytics & AI Engineer, you will be part of the Digital & IT department and take an important role in developing and maintaining our Business Intelligence and data platform.

You will be responsible for developing our Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment, ensuring reliable data foundations and creating reporting solutions that support business decisions across different functions.

In addition, you will contribute to our strategic ambition of introducing AI-powered analytics, intelligent automation and AI agents that can interact with our enterprise data. You will work closely with the Solution Architect and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable and practical solutions.

The position reports to the Solution Architect.

  • Design, develop and maintain interactive Power BI reports and dashboards for different business functions.
  • Develop and optimise DAX measures, calculated columns and data models to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.
  • Build and maintain centralised Power BI semantic models, creating a consistent single source of truth for business data and KPIs.
  • Design efficient and maintainable data models, primarily using star-schema principles.
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation and orchestration pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory and Power Query.
  • Integrate data from POS, financial, operational and third-party systems using REST APIs, SQL databases, SharePoint and file-based integrations.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, performance and consistency across our analytics platform.
  • Manage development, testing and production environments, including system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Manage deployments, documentation, version control and release processes, applying CI/CD best practices through Azure DevOps and Git.
  • Develop AI-powered analytics solutions within the Microsoft Fabric and Power BI ecosystem.
  • Explore and implement AI agents capable of interacting with enterprise data and semantic models.
  • Enable natural-language querying and conversational Business Intelligence.
  • Develop intelligent workflows for automated analysis, anomaly detection, data quality monitoring and reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations using Azure-hosted services and AI platforms such as Claude and ChatGPT.
  • Ensure that all solutions follow enterprise security, data governance and responsible AI principles.
Who are you?

You are a technically strong and curious professional who enjoys turning complex data into meaningful business insights. You combine a structured and analytical mindset with a genuine interest in new technologies, particularly AI and intelligent automation.

You are comfortable taking ownership of technical solutions from initial design and development through testing, deployment and continuous improvement. You also understand the importance of translating technical possibilities into practical solutions that create value for the business.

You enjoy working with different stakeholders, can communicate technical concepts in an understandable way and are motivated by exploring new opportunities within data and AI. You are proactive, solution-oriented and thrive in an environment where you can influence and help build capabilities for the future.

Qualifications and experience
  • You have at least 4–5 years of relevant experience in Power BI, Business Intelligence, data engineering or a similar role.
  • You have strong hands-on experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query and semantic model development.
  • You have practical experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines and data transformation.
  • You have strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehousing.
  • You have experience integrating enterprise systems using REST APIs, JSON, SQL and file-based integrations.
  • You are familiar with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD and structured deployment processes.
  • You have a good understanding of data security, access management and data governance.
  • Experience with AI-powered analytics, AI agents, conversational BI or MCP integrations is an advantage, but not a requirement.
  • You have strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • You communicate effectively and are comfortable collaborating with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
