Job summary

HCLTech in Gothenburg is seeking an ADAS System Designer to drive the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and Active Safety functions in automotive projects. You will translate customer and feature requirements into robust system solutions, defining architecture and interfaces, and ensuring safety considerations are integrated.

The role collaborates with software, verification, sensor, platform, UX, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver traceable, testable system

Qualifications

• Required degree in engineering or related field.

ADAS System Designer – Automotive Safety & Autonomous Functions

Location: Gothenburg

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced ADAS System Designer to drive the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Active Safety functions. You will translate customer and feature requirements into robust system solutions, defining functional architecture, system requirements, interfaces, vehicle behavior, fault handling, and safety concepts.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop ADAS/Active Safety system solutions from concept to implementation.
• Define system architecture, requirements, use cases, interfaces, and signal dependencies.
• Collaborate with software, verification, sensor, platform, UX, Functional Safety, and Cybersecurity teams.
• Support requirement reviews, technical risk assessments, and implementation follow-up.
• Ensure traceable and testable system requirements and design documentation.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Automotive, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Strong experience in ADAS, Active Safety, Autonomous Driving, Vehicle Control, or Embedded Automotive Systems.
• Expertise in system design, functional architecture, requirements engineering, and vehicle-level behavior.
• Hands-on experience with CarWeaver, DOORS, or similar requirements management tools.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 Functional Safety, fault handling, degradation strategies, and safety analysis.
• Good understanding of automotive E/E architecture, sensors, communication protocols, and software-defined vehicles.
