Job summary

Volvo Cars is seeking a proactive Function Designer and Project Lead in Safe Vehicle Automation to design and verify ADAS functions such as Parking, Pilot Assist and ACC. You will collaborate with function design engineers and verification teams to ensure end-to-end function ownership and drive results with strong communication.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Engineering or a related field, have ADAS experience, system design and UX concepts knowledge, and a Swedish driving license B.

Qualifications

• Experience with ADAS functions such as Parking, Pilot Assist or ACC.
• Experience in system design, UX concepts and related standards (ISO262262, SOTIF).
• Swedish Driving license B.

Safe Vehicle Automation (SVA) consists of around 600 engineers responsible for research, advanced engineering, implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers in Safety, Vehicle control and Autonomous Drive. Nested within SVA is the AD/ADAS Functions department. We develop functions such as Collision Avoidance, Low Speed Assistance, Pilot Assist, connected safety and pave the way toward Autonomous Driving. We build functionality and software into a complete product using sensor input from radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar to create a comprehensive perception of the car’s surroundings. Your long-term competence plan will include steps to expand knowledge and contributions within many related areas.

What you’ll do

You will be part of the AD/ADAS functions department, designing and supporting the verification of ADAS functions. You will take the role of Function Designer and Project Lead within the team, performing function design tasks and leading the completion of product deltas as part of end-to-end function ownership. You will work with other function design engineers, verification teams and multiple stakeholders to create the best ADAS customer functions on the market. As project lead, a high level of communication, alignment and driving results is required.

• You have experience in function design, requirements management, project management and execution according to VPDS.

• You have experience in system design, UX concepts, as well as experience in ISO262262, and Fusa concepts and/or SOTIF.
• You have Swedish Driving license B.
• Experience in customer function and system verification as well as experience in parking functionality is considered meritorious.
