Job summary

Volvo Personvagnar Aktiebolag is seeking a driven Function Designer and Project Lead in the AD/ADAS domain. You will design and verify ADAS functions, leading product deltas from concept to delivery and coordinating with design, verification and stakeholder teams.

The role emphasizes end-to-end responsibility, strong communication, and results-driven leadership to create market-leading ADAS features such as Parking, Pilot Assist and ACC.

Safe Vehicle Automation (SVA) consists of around 600 skilled engineers who are responsible for everything from research and advanced engineering, to implementation, verification and validation of current and future customer offers in the area of Safety, Vehicle control and Autonomous Drive. Nested within SVA is the department of AD/ADAS Functions, where we develop functions such as Collision Avoidance, Low Speed Assistance, Pilot Assist, and connected safety, paving the way towards Autonomous Driving (AD). We develop and integrate functionality and software into a complete product, using sensor inputs such as radar, camera, ultrasonic and lidar to build a comprehensive perception of the car’s surroundings.

What you’ll do

You will be part of the AD/ADAS functions department, designing and supporting the verification of ADAS functions. In the role as Function Designer and Project Lead, you will perform function design tasks and lead the completion of product deltas as part of our end‑to‑end function ownership responsibility. You will work together with other function design engineers, verification teams, and multiple stakeholders to create the best ADAS customer functions on the market, requiring a high level of communication, alignment and results‑driven leadership.

What you’ll bring

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Automotive, Project Management, Physics or a similar field.
• You have experience in function design, requirement management, project management and execution according to VPDS.
• Experience and knowledge of ADAS functions such as Parking, Pilot Assist or ACC.
• Have a passion for our product.
• You have experience in system design, UX concepts, and ISO 26262 – Fusa concepts and/or SOTIF.
• Swedish driving licence B.
• Experience in customer function and system verification, and experience in parking functionality is considered meritorious.
