Job summary

Urban Italian Group is expanding, seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee all Swedish accounting operations. The role covers 20 entities, driving monthly closes and strengthening processes to support growth.

You will lead AP/AR/GL, ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate audits, and advance automation using Fortnox and AI. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in multi-entity accounting and excellent Swedish/English communication.

Qualifications

• Hands-on accounting with 4+ years in multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of Swedish accounting regs (K2/K3).
• Solid experience of full accounting cycle (AP, AR, GL, closures).
• Proficiency with Fortnox and Excel; openness to new systems and AI tools.
• Ability to manage several entities and deadlines with accuracy.
• Fluency in Swedish and English; clear financial communication.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of accounting across Swedish entities (AP, AR, GL, reconciliations).
• Lead monthly, quarterly and year-end closes with accruals and intercompany balance work.
• Prepare internal and statutory reporting with clear financial information.
• Ensure compliance with Swedish standards and VAT/tax requirements.
• Coordinate Swedish audit process and liaise with auditors.
• Strengthen internal controls and standardise processes across the group.
• Improve and automate processes using Fortnox, digital tools and AI.

The Role

Urban Italian Group is growing across Europe, and we are looking for an Accounting Manager to take ownership of our accounting operations in Sweden.

This is a hands-on role with real responsibility. You will oversee accounting across approximately 20 Swedish entities, manage the monthly close and help strengthen the processes and systems that support our continued growth.

What you'll be doing

• Take end-to-end ownership of accounting across our Swedish entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.

• Lead accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, including accruals, reconciliations and intercompany balances.

• Prepare reliable internal and statutory reporting, providing clear financial information to colleagues across the business.

• Ensure compliance with Swedish accounting standards, including K2 and K3, as well as relevant VAT, tax and reporting requirements.

• Coordinate the Swedish audit process, preparing documentation and acting as the main contact for auditors and external advisers.

• Strengthen internal controls and standardise accounting processes across the group, identifying risks or discrepancies early.

• Improve and automate financial processes using Fortnox, digital tools and AI, while supporting the introduction of future finance systems.You'll thrive in this role if you

• At least four years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity group, scale-up or similarly fast-moving environment.

• Strong knowledge of Swedish accounting regulations, K2 and K3, monthly closing and year-end reporting.

• Solid experience across the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, accruals and statutory reporting.

• Confidence using Fortnox and Excel, with an interest in new systems, automation and AI-supported ways of working.

• The ability to manage several entities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

• Fluency in Swedish and English, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.

• A proactive and hands-on approach—you take ownership, build structure and look for solutions when processes can be improved.
