Overview

The opportunity to build a program responsible for administrating, consulting and/or negotiating product/service contracts with external customers. Develops pre-sales contract strategies and works closely with marketing, sales, and business management teams to structure proposals/contracts/bid documents. Negotiates contracts that are consistent with business objectives and engages in contract amendments and renegotiation to accommodate scope changes. Ensures fulfilment of contractual obligations from contracting parties. Responsibilities may be included. Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision. Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

Responsibilities
  • Formulates competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each situation.
  • Ensures tenders are well documented in a timely manner with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate cost.
  • Manages the preparation of all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable technology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and, if necessary, project management aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
  • Identifies potential risks in the bids, quotations and estimates, and in any related contract agreements across customers/channels.
  • Provides information and/or participates in the Risk Review process in accordance with Hitachi policy.
  • Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials and evaluates supplier offers to check matches with specifications.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain Management to coordinate requests to subcontractors.
  • Responsible for collecting information needed to prepare the proposal, including both technical and cost elements.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
