Job description

We are seeking an experienced Standards, Policies & Guidelines Director to lead the development, implementation, and governance of regulatory frameworks, policies, and technical standards within a national-level organization.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring institutional compliance, quality assurance, and alignment with local regulations and international best practices.

Role Purpose

To develop, review, and manage standards, policies, and guidelines that support regulatory compliance, operational consistency, and sector-wide quality, while enabling effective implementation across relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and update policies, standards, and technical guidelines in line with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish and maintain unified procedures, frameworks, and governance models.
  • Ensure alignment with national regulations and relevant international standards and best practices.
  • Conduct regulatory impact and risk assessments related to policies and standards.
  • Provide advisory and technical support to internal departments on policy implementation and compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistency and effective application of standards.
  • Monitor compliance levels and prepare periodic reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee quality assurance practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track international benchmarks and standards (e.g., ISO, OIE) and assess applicability within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience

Veterinary Medicine or Quality Management or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in policy development, standards management, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards such as ISO and OIE.
  • Experience working within regulated or governance-driven environments is highly preferred.
