Job summary

Job Purpose

Provides engineering solutions as part of a SSE project taskforce, in accordance with TechnipFMC standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.

Provides technical support to internal and external customers for ongoing projects and/or field operation. Performs original design and layout work to develop new or modified products.

Employs extensive knowledge of engineering, theory, mathematics and practical mechanics to solve design and operational problems.

Job Description
  • Performs in accordance with department and/or projects instructions, schedules, processes, and HSE requirements:
    • Technically correct engineering analysis
    • Optimized engineering solutions
    • Technical assistance within projects, and manufacturing, fabrication, and installation sites.
  • Writes and issues technical specifications and reports related to own activities within projects and/or operations.
  • Supervises more “junior” engineering personnel by checking their calculations, design conception, and engineering solutions and ensures quality and efficiency of deliverables.
  • Works on design basis for projects and/or manufacturing operations.
  • Interfaces with other engineering disciplines and possibly with project functional disciplines, such as procurement and planning.
  • Regular contacts within and outside the department.
  • Performs as technical point of contact for internal and external customers to provide support for ongoing projects and field operations.
  • Follows all TechnipFMC rules and procedures for Engineering, Quality, Environment, Health and Safety.
  • Applies analytical and problem‑solving skills while under pressure to provide real time technical support in response to offshore issues.
  • Create, check, review TCE and Engineering documentation through the ECN process.
  • Conducts and prepares design reviews.
  • Prepare, review all levels of engineering calculations.
  • Creates, reviews and approves procedures and work instructions for mobilization, demobilization, maintenance, refurbishment, and repair activities.
  • Responsible for project status for on-time delivery, productivity and quality and safety of design. Reports as required on assigned projects.
  • Prepares and presents complex ideas, design concepts, design improvement proposals, and procedures.
  • Participates to technical meetings internally and with client/suppliers.
  • Works closely with clients to understand their needs, manage expectations, troubleshoot and produce technical solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Supports in technical negotiations with client/suppliers.
  • Can lead a design staff, on a project basis, in analyzing design alternatives. Suggests design options and prepares layouts illustrating the need of the customer.
  • Provides support during refurbishment/remanufacture activities, evaluates and approves concessions/deviations where required.
  • Performs dispositions of Quality Notifications.
  • Provides support and expertise for local HSEQ activities: RCAs, HAZOPs, and Risk Assessments.
  • Investigates and resolves technical issues raised through EFNCR system.
  • Prepares and attends System Integration Tests (SITs).
  • Can be sent on-site for new products installation and commissioning and trouble shooting.
  • Provides a link to other service locations and regional engineering groups to transfer knowledge, experience and best practices.
  • Works safely and follows safety policies.

  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/FORMAL EDUCATION:
  • BS degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent with 2 to 4 years’ experience in the field.
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Engineer (Design Engineer/WH and XT Engineer/System Engineer/Project Engineer).
  • Experience in supporting others as part of a team.
  • REQUIRED CERTIFICATE(S):
