Job summary

Masdr - مصدر is seeking an experienced software/product engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable product features across backend and frontend.

You will collaborate with product, QA, solution architect, and design teams to steer technical decisions, ensure quality, and meet ambitious timelines. This role also involves mentoring mid-level and junior engineers in a fast-growing Riyadh-based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4-5 years of experience in software or product engineering, focusing on application development, system design, APIs, and scalable product solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of product features end to end.
• Build scalable backend/frontend components.
• Collaborate with product, QA, Solution Architect, and design teams steering technical decisions to meet business outcomes.
• Define and enforce code quality, performance, and maintainability standards across the team.
• Support testing, debugging, and issue resolution.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical design decisions.
• Own alignment with engineering standards, security, and best practices.
• Lead deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement, and proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
• Participate in sprint planning and backlog refinement shaping priorities and surfacing architectural risk to inform delivery decisions.
• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers, elevating team capability and engineering maturity.

Education

Job Purpose:

Design, build, and operate product capabilities by developing scalable, reliable, and maintainable engineering solutions that support product delivery and user needs in alignment with Masdr’s standards.

Accountabilities

Generic Accountabilities:

People Management

• Organize and supervise the work of the assigned team to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner, which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.
• Provide guidance on the job training for junior colleagues and conduct knowledge sharing to facilitate achievement of team objectives and completion of tasks in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.

Budgeting and Financial Performance

• Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets and ensure all activities are carried out in line with the approved guidelines while promptly reporting on any variances to management.
• Provide inputs and implement policies, systems and procedures for the assigned team so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Change Management

• Participate in the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.

Reporting

• Prepare required statements and reports timely and accurately to meet Masdr’s and department requirements, policies and quality standards.
