Job summary

Masdr seeks an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure cloud platform capabilities that empower application teams to deploy and run services efficiently. You will lead IaC adoption with Terraform and drive DevSecOps practices, enforcing governance across environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-6 years of experience in cloud platform engineering or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, CE, Cloud Computing, or related discipline.
• Experience with cloud governance, policy enforcement, and regulatory compliance (NCA, SAMA).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud platform components including landing zones, shared services, and foundational infrastructure.
• Ensure scalable, secure, standardized platform architecture across environments.
• Design and manage IaC using Terraform and reusable modules.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and workflows across the platform.

Job Purpose

Design, build, and operate scalable, secure cloud platform capabilities that enable application teams to deploy and run services efficiently. Drive Infrastructure as Code, automation, and DevSecOps practices to ensure consistency, reliability, governance, and compliance across the environment.

Generic Accountabilities:

• Contribute to Masdr strategy by aligning platform capabilities with business, engineering, and regulatory requirements.
• Translate architecture and standards into practical implementation plans.

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure platform services comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., NCA, SAMA).
• Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation activities.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of platform services through monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain standardization, documentation, and automation across platform operations.
• Work closely with DevOps, Security, and application teams to enable secure and scalable deployments.
• Act as a technical point of contact for platform-related initiatives.
• Implement changes with minimal risk and downtime using controlled and automated approaches.
• Continuously improve platform capabilities, automation, and operational efficiency.

Job-Specific Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and maintain cloud platform components including landing zones, shared services, and foundational infrastructure.
• Ensure scalable, secure, and standardized platform architecture across environments.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation

• Design and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and reusable modules.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows across the platform.
• Ensure consistency, repeatability, and auditability through version-controlled infrastructure.
• Reduce manual effort and improve deployment speed and reliability.

CI/CD & Platform Enablement

• Design and enable CI/CD pipelines to support application build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Integrate platform capabilities with development pipelines to enable self-service deployments.
• Improve release efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Security & DevSecOps Integration

• Embed security controls into platform design and deployment workflows.
• Ensure secure configurations, access control, and policy enforcement across all environments.
• Collaborate with security teams to integrate security practices into CI/CD and platform services.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for platform components and services.
• Ensure platform reliability through proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Support incident response and root cause analysis for platform-related issues.

Cloud Operations & Support

• Operate and maintain cloud platform services, ensuring availability and performance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across environments.
• Manage capacity, scaling, and optimization of platform resources.
• Administer and maintain Linux and Windows server environments across cloud and on-prem platforms.
• Apply system hardening standards and secure configurations aligned with regulatory requirements (NCA, SAMA).
• Perform patching, vulnerability remediation, and baseline configuration management.
• Ensure operating systems are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance and reliability.

Governance & Compliance Implementation

• Enforce cloud governance, tagging, and policy standards across all resources.
• Ensure platform aligns with regulatory requirements (NCA, SAMA) and internal controls.
• Support audit readiness through proper controls, logging, and documentation.
• Coordinates with cloud service providers and vendors to ensure service performance and SLA adherence.
• Supports evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and cloud services.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives in automation, observability, and infrastructure practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management within the department.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and standards.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cloud Computing, or a related discipline.

Experience

Minimum 5-6 years of experience in Cloud Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Cloud Operations, or related fields.
