About the Opportunity

Value Added Services (VAS) team (Also popularly known as Amazon Home Services (AHS) in Hyderabad, India) is building a WW Services platform which enables Amazon to seamlessly integrate professional services (including home improvement, installation, maintenance, and lifestyle services) with product purchases. We're building a first-of-its-kind ecosystem that connects qualified service professionals with customers while maintaining the highest standards of trust, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team of talented engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence
• Drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our fulfillment execution systems
• Collaborate across business and engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions
• Establish engineering best practices and development standards
• Balance technical trade-offs between scalability, performance, and user experience
• Provide technical mentorship and guide architectural decisions
• Manage team priorities, goals, and stakeholder relationships

What You’ll Do

• Architect and develop robust, scalable systems that power our service marketplace
• Lead technical design reviews and provide strategic guidance on system integration
• Define and implement technical strategies that align with business objectives
• Foster engineering excellence through mentorship and knowledge sharing
• Drive operational excellence through effective devops processes

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
