Job summary

Buro Happold in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead high-profile building structures projects and push innovative, sustainable design solutions. You will collaborate with architects, MEP engineers and clients to deliver technically excellent, integrated structures that meet performance goals.

With a track record in consultancy, you will apply advanced analysis tools, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to a culture of learning, diversity, and excellence across a globally

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered or working towards chartership with recognized bodies (IStructE/ICE).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in structural engineering design within a consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of building structures projects, ensuring technical quality and sustainability objectives.
• Apply advanced structural analysis and design using ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM Concept, and Robot.
• Prepare design reports, specifications, and presentations.

Your key duties

As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Riyadh office, you’ll help deliver bold, efficient, and sustainable designs that push boundaries and bring visionary projects to life. You’ll work across a range of high-profile developments - from cultural icons to complex commercial structures - applying advanced analysis and collaborative thinking to shape the built environment.

• Leading the design and delivery of building structures projects, ensuring technical quality and alignment with client and sustainability objectives.
• Applying advanced structural analysis and design skills using software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, RAM Concept, and Robot.
• Preparing design reports, technical specifications, and presentations.
• Coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural solutions seamlessly within the overall design.
• Reviewing and supervising work by junior engineers and providing mentorship.
• Engaging in peer reviews and quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of technical delivery.

Your Skills And Experience

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's level preferred).
• Chartered or working towards chartership with a recognized body (e.g., IStructE, ICE).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in structural engineering design within a consultancy environment.
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis tools (ETABS, Revit, Rhino/Grasshopper, Tekla, etc.).
• A strong understanding of regional and international codes and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build strong client relationships.
• Passion for innovation, sustainability, and delivering elegant and efficient engineering solutions.
• Professional proficiency in English and Arabic.
