Job summary

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a senior Cost Engineer for large-scale infrastructure and city development projects, including water and wastewater.

The role involves cost estimation, budgeting, forecasting, and liaison with multiple teams to keep projects on track. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience, strong communication skills, and a track record of managing international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in large-scale infrastructure or city development projects, with tracking payments.
• Experience in the construction of water and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of professional project management processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience of working internationally.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs, material quantities and project timelines; liaise with teams to keep the project on track.
• Study drawings and specifications to calculate materials, costs, labour and time; provide early cost advice.
• Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with clients and consultants.
• Undertake cost analysis for variations and claims; advise on contractual claims and disputes.
• Value completed work and arrange payments; ensure clients get value for money.
• Prepare and submit cost estimates and budgets; conduct studies to estimate resources; write budget reports.
• Track design changes and adjust budget projections.
• Review contractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare and present regular reports on project costs, budget variances and risks.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in cost management.
• Inform themselves of Hill International's QA, EHS policies and ensure compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by line manager/supervisor.
