Job summary

Siemens seeks a Protection testing engineer in Jeddah to test and maintain protection relays (SIPROTEC 5/4 and Reyrolle) and MV/LV switchgear, including advanced protection tests. You will troubleshoot HV/MV/LV systems, analyze faults, and identify root causes within a localization-driven environment.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in protection testing, a degree in Electrical Power Engineering, and strong leadership and communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven technical expertise in medium and low voltage switchgear, testing and commissioning, and protection relay testing (e.g., Siemens and other major vendors).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with leadership, organization, communication and creative thinking.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Test and maintain medium voltage switchgear (CT, VT, CR tests, CB timing).
• Test and maintain low voltage switchgear (CT, VT, CR tests).
• Perform advanced protection function testing (busbar, distance, line/transformer differential).
• Troubleshoot HV, MV, and LV electrical systems; analyze faults and identify root causes.

Your Role – International, Challenging and Future-Oriented!

• Work with Siemens SIPROTEC 5 & 4 and Reyrolle protection relays
• Handle ABB, GE, and SEL protection relays
• Test and maintain medium voltage switchgear (CT, VT, CR tests, CB timing)
• Test and maintain low voltage switchgear (CT, VT, CR tests)
• Perform advanced protection function testing (busbar, distance, line/transformer differential)
• Troubleshoot HV, MV, and LV electrical systems
• Analyze faults and identify root causes

Your Qualifications And Skills – Digital And Solid!

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or an equivalent certification.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven technical expertise in medium and low voltage switchgear, including testing and commissioning, as well as protection relay testing (e.g., Siemens and other major vendors).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with demonstrated skills in critical thinking, organization, communication, job coordination, creative thinking, programming, and leadership.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
