Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Product Owner and Software Engineer for an agile Modeling & Simulation program supporting the Missile Defense Agency. This onsite role requires leading technical work, coordinating tasks, budgets and schedules, and delivering software across SDLC phases.

You will design, prototype, and develop capabilities, troubleshoot performance, and document architecture while collaborating with customers and teams to ensure high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
• Experience in an object-oriented language, specifically C++.
• Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.
• Experience with data structures, software design principles, and coding algorithms in high-concurrency and distributed systems.
• Experience leading or managing a team.
• Active Secret Security Clearance (DoD).

Responsibilities

• Design, prototyping, software development, integration, testing and analysis of new or enhanced system capabilities.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency in complex environments.
• Write and maintain documentation for software applications, including system architecture and design specs.
• Participate in product reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Lead the team’s technical direction and coordinate with internal/external customers; support proposals and planning.
