Overview
Lead the design, review, and supervision of mechanical systems for complex construction and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services, and will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical engineering design process including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
- Prepare and review mechanical system designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and architectural teams.
- Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and feasibility studies as needed.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant international and local codes and standards.
- Provide technical oversight and support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Review submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals for compliance with design intent.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify proper execution of mechanical works.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation from a mechanical perspective.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 7 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems design.
- Familiarity with international standards and codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and ISO.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Elite, or similar.
- Solid understanding of sustainable design and energy efficiency principles.
- Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
