Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect in Saudi Arabia to design sustainable outdoor spaces along highways and infrastructure corridors. You will analyze terrain, climate, and environmental factors, and coordinate with civil engineers and architects to integrate landscape elements.

The role requires 15+ years’ experience and proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Excellent communication and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture.
• 15+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of urban design, horticulture, soil science, hydrology and sustainability.
• Experience on infrastructure or road projects.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong project management and budgeting abilities.
• Ability to prepare cost estimates and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

Job Description Overview

A Senior Landscape Architect is responsible for designing functional, sustainable, and visually appealing outdoor spaces along highways, urban roads, and infrastructure developments. Their role blends environmental planning, aesthetics, and engineering coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and attractive public spaces.

Your role Conduct site analysis including terrain, soil, climate, and environmental impact. Design landscaping plans for highways, medians, sidewalks, and adjoining green spaces. Develop drainage, erosion control, and planting schemes aligned with infrastructure needs. Ensure compliance with safety standards, urban planning, and environmental regulations. Collaborate with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to integrate landscape elements. Prepare detailed drawings, 3D models, and construction documentation. Supervise on-site landscaping activities such as planting, paving, and installation of street furniture. Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards. Select native and drought-resistant plant species to reduce maintenance costs. Incorporate noise barriers, green buffers, and pedestrian-friendly zones. Enhance visual appeal of roads through greenery, lighting, and material selection.

About you

• Bachelor’s/master’s degree in landscape architecture.
• 15+ years of experience
• Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, GIS, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong knowledge of urban design, horticulture, soil science, hydrology, and sustainability practices.
• Experience in infrastructure or road-related projects.
