Job summary

Confidential in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Irrigation Engineer to lead design, calculations, and submittals for landscaping projects, ensuring technical compliance with standards and client expectations.

The role involves coordinating with landscape architects, civil engineers, and MEP teams, preparing technical documents, reviewing specs, and supporting procurement and site teams during installation and testing work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Landscape Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of irrigation engineering experience in landscaping or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulic calculations, pumps, valves, and controllers.
• Experience in GCC region irrigation/landscaping projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and irrigation design software.
• Good understanding of international standards and water-efficient practices.
• Strong coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review irrigation shop drawings, layouts, and detailed designs for landscaping projects.
• Develop irrigation calculations including water demand, pipe sizing, pressure loss, pump requirements, and hydraulic analysis.
• Coordinate with landscape architects, civil engineers, MEP teams, and project management for proper integration.
• Prepare technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and related documentation.
• Review project specifications, BOQs, and contract docs to ensure compliance during design and execution.
• Support procurement with technical evaluations and material selection.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimation for irrigation works.
• Ensure compliance with local authority requirements and water conservation practices.
• Provide technical support to site teams during installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting.
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and consultant comments.
• Assist in value engineering to optimize performance and cost.
• Maintain documentation for all irrigation-related submissions and approvals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum [5+] years of experience in irrigation engineering within landscaping or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulic calculations, pumps, valves, controllers, and related materials.
• Experience in landscaping and irrigation projects within GCC region is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and irrigation design software.
• Good understanding of international standards and water-efficient irrigation practices.
• Strong coordination, communication, and technical reporting skills.
• Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of smart irrigation systems and automated controllers.
• Familiarity with local authority regulations and approval processes.
• Experience in preparing as-built drawings and technical reports.
• PMP or relevant professional certifications are considered an advantage.
