Job summary

KAUST seeks a highly motivated HPC Computational Scientist to optimize and support internal codes on Shaheen III CPU/GPU partitions. You will enable researchers by porting, tuning, and documenting HPC workflows, and by developing tools that accelerate computational science and engineering projects.

The role requires leading-edge expertise in parallel computing, MPI, OpenMP, CUDA, and OpenACC, with a PhD in a related field.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in computer science, computational science and engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience in parallel computing and with HPC storage systems.
• Strong programming skills in HPC languages (Fortran, C/C++, Python).
• Proven ability to support research activities in HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for compiling, running, debugging, and optimizing codes on HPC systems (CPU/GPU).
• Deliver training, documentation, and user support for laboratory systems and software.
• Develop, port, tune HPC applications and libraries for performance on CPU/GPU architectures.
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and industry partners to meet research objectives.
