Job summary

Hopper is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build the future of travel fintech for our B2B partners. You will design, build, and scale highly available backend systems that integrate with airlines, banks, and hotels in a 100% remote Americas role.

You will iterate rapidly in a microservices environment using Scala and React, collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and frontend engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with Scala and React in a distributed, microservices environment.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and performance tradeoffs.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Prior cloud experience.
• Experience in airline/travel or ecommerce is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Iterate on features in an agile manner using Scala and React.
• Design and build core systems within a microservices architecture.
• Ship code quickly and iterate on features in an agile manner.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other specialists.
• Drive scalable backend systems for travel fintech integrations.
