A leading media communications agency in Riyadh is seeking a skilled Media Planning Lead to manage digital marketing campaigns and client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a BS/MS degree in marketing, 2–5 years of media planning experience, and strong analytical skills. Your key responsibility in this role will be to lead the team in developing, implementing, tracking and optimizing the digital marketing campaigns of one of our top clients, across all digital channels in the region.
You should also be able to support the media division and wider media team with developing media plans in line with the communication strategy and any other duties relating to developing accurate media (client) campaigns. You will be responsible for designing and implementing creative and effective communication campaigns, which are data driven and grounded in strategy and insights to drive our client’s business.
Lead the development and implementation of media plans for clients, including analyzing market and consumer data, identifying target audiences, and selecting media channels.
Is aware and understands the importance of setting key performance indicators and being an active member in achieving them.
Collaborate with other members of the planning team and cross‑functional teams to develop and execute effective media strategies.
Manage day‑to‑day client relationships and communications.
Mentor and guide junior planning team members.
Develop, assess and present to the client documents related to media strategies, media plans, reports (campaign & competitive).
Expertly develop and evaluate supplier proposals.
Set client expectations on all projects.
Work closely with the finance department to manage ongoing financials on the account, generate periodic reconciliation and manage ad‑hoc vendor issues.
Foster relationships with the clients where the planner is respected for their media skills and ability to add value to the effectiveness of clients’ media investment.
Lead on media spend summaries and flowcharts to make sure they are updated and accurate.
Direct team member with input from strategy, implementation, data‑driven insights and recommendations.
Master a flawless media planning process and design integrated solutions to clients.
Strong relationship with media vendors, negotiate extra deliverables for the client (rates, extensions, delivery deadlines etc.).
Work with Buying Team: provide them with an investment brief, collaborate in the development of implementation plan and liaise with them regarding any issues on ongoing plans.
Help the team as required, e.g. perform competitive analyses, answer direct information requests and evaluate media options.
Involve in helping develop and deliver competitive/plan rationale presentations.
Ability to comprehend a client’s requirements, pose appropriate inquiries, and devise a plan for utilizing media outlets in accordance with the client’s goals.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and market research.
Good sense of commercial understanding, capable of evaluating ROI drivers for business partners and the agency.
Ability to work on MS Office 365 software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.).
In‑depth knowledge of media planning and buying tools such as Z/X Plan, Statex, Global Web Index (GWI), Euromonitor, WARC, Similar Web, etc.
In‑depth knowledge of industry digital planning tools such as DV360, Google Ads, Meta Business Manager, Snap Chat Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager.
Knowledge of digital media and emerging technologies.
Develop a good rapport with media owners, colleagues within Starcom and creative agencies.
Assess media campaigns and develop actionable, insightful recommendations to optimize them against the project’s goal.
Build a deep understanding of the client’s business, products, services, customer profile, marketing and business objectives, competitors and sales.
Maintain media knowledge of market, consumer and media research available.
Use research tools and data to analyze target audience and products; develop knowledge of tools such as GWI, brand pulse, etc.
Understand the competitive frame and industry dynamics.
Manage multiple projects, clients and stakeholders; strong project management and prioritization skills.
BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field.
2–5 years of proven experience in media planning (online & offline).
Proven ability to mentor and lead a team of planning executives is preferable.
Strong organizational skills, team player, ability to multitask and work under pressure.
Digital certifications across major platforms, including Meta (FB & IG), Google, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
Fluent in English and Arabic.
