Job summary

Ma'aden Gold and Base Metals (MGBM) seeks an Engineer, Drill & Blast III to oversee planning, design and execution of drilling and blasting in mining projects, optimizing blast designs while ensuring safety and ore recovery.

Collaborate with geologists, mine planners and production teams to integrate drill and blast activities into schedules, select equipment and initiation systems, and mentor crews on blasting procedures and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mining or civil engineering; master's preferred.
• 4–10 years of drill and blast experience in mining.
• Strong blast design, rock mechanics, explosives engineering knowledge.
• Experience with blast modeling software (BlastXpert, Surpac, Vulcan).
• Ability to plan, monitor, and optimize fragmentation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize drill and blast plans and strategies.
• Assess geology and rock mass to determine blast parameters.
• Coordinate with geologists and mine planners to fit schedules.
• Evaluate equipment, initiation systems and safety controls.
• Provide training to junior engineers and blasting crews.
• Monitor blast performance and environmental impacts.
