Job summary

Abis is seeking a QC Inspector – Coating to perform inspections and testing of surface preparation and protective coatings to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.

The role requires 5–8 years of coating/painting inspection experience, with a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Civil Engineering and NACE Level II preferred. You will coordinate inspections, maintain QC records, and support handover documentation on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Civil Engineering required or equivalent.
• NACE Level II coating inspection certification preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience as a QC Inspector on coating/painting projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final inspections on surface preparation and coating/painting works.
• Verify surface preparation (blasting profile, cleanliness) against specifications (e.g., SSPC/NACE standards).
• Witness coating application, DFT/WFT checks, holiday testing, and adhesion tests per the ITP.
• Verify environmental conditions (humidity, dew point, temperature) prior to coating application.
• Verify materials and batch certificates against approved coating specifications.
• Record inspection results and raise Non-Conformance Reports as required.
• Coordinate hold points and inspections with client/third-party inspectors.
• Maintain inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
• Verify calibration status of measuring and test equipment used on site.
• Support punch-list generation and verification of closure for coating works.
• Support preparation of quality documentation for coating handover dossiers.
