Job summary

STC is seeking an experienced Technology Architect to develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture models and roadmaps, providing technical leadership and consulting across cybersecurity and infrastructure domains.

The role involves evaluating current architectures, defining gaps, and establishing transition roadmaps with principles aligned to business policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in telecommunications engineering or related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in managing large scale Technology Architecture Transformation and Implementation programs.
• Preferred prior experience in leading large scale technology organizations (Network or IT).
• Exposure to emerging trends and technologies in previous roles.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate global and local technology trends including standardized technologies and best practices.
• Define gaps between As-Is and To-Be fixed access and transport architectures and define transition roadmap.
• Lead on technology decisions regarding Fixed access and Transport Technology domain including adoption of new technologies and retirement of legacy technologies.
• Ensure a coherent and commercially based Fixed access and Transport Architecture aligned with technology strategy and business goals.
• Support with CAPEX investment planning, KPIs, owners, targets and interdependencies with the Technology Unit Financial Efficiency & Excellence team.
• Collaborate with business units and other TUs to build Fixed access and Transport Architecture covering all aspects.
• Review RFIs & RFPs and provide insights on adopting trending technologies for alignment with new tech.
• Lead development and maintenance of Fixed access and Transport Architecture for mobile technologies based on TMF, 3GPP, etc.

This position exists to evaluate current Cybersecurity architectures, define gaps, develop transition roadmaps and establishing principles. The role holder shall carry out his duties in accordance with the stipulated business policies and procedure.

Job Responsibility

• Evaluate global and local technology trends including standardized technologies, adopted best practices and uses cases and lessons learnt from others, especially Tier-1 operators worldwide.
• Evaluate current situation at stc and define gaps between the As-Is and To-Be Fixed access and Transport architectures and define transition roadmap.
• Lead on technology decisions regarding Fixed access and Transport Technology domain including adoption of new technologies and planning to retire the legacy Technologies.
• Ensure to deduce from Technology strategy and business plans a coherent and commercially based Fixed access and Transport Architecture that feeds in into an overarching technology strategy and meets business goals.
• Ensure the support of Technology Unit Financial Efficiency & Excellence team to develop Fixed Access & Transport Architecture required investment (CAPEX), roadmaps, clear KPIs, owners, targets, interdependencies.
• Ensure to support with business units and other TUs sectors to build Fixed access and Transport Architecture covering all aspect.

Job Responsibility (cont.)

• Evaluate and review technical and architecture proposals such as RFIs & RFP
• Ensure to provide insight for the concerned team on adopting new trending technologies related to the domain to assure alignments on new emerging technologies.
• Lead the development and maintenance of the Fixed access and Transport Architecture (As-Is, Gaps, To-Be) for mobile technologies based on best practice (TMF, 3GPP, etc..).
• Evaluate and validate 3 Years Business Demand for Fixed access and Transport network to predict the forecasted Core and Cloud workload, voice traffic and signaling.
• Ensure the development of 3 years Fixed access and Transport network fundamental plans.
• Lead the top-down development of an integrated, coherent and business-aligned strategic plan for technology, with a clear identification of key enablers and strategic initiatives required to meet the long-term needs of the business and optimally integrating individual bottom-up sectors’ priorities & plans.
• Review full list of Technology projects in progress and planned for implementation identifying main interdependencies with technology strategy and roadmap and providing direction on project prioritization in collaboration with Demand Management and Finance.
