Job Description Overview

A Road Structure Inspector is responsible for inspecting, assessing, and documenting the condition of transportation‑related structures such as bridges, culverts, flyovers, retaining walls, drainage structures, underpasses, tunnels, and sign gantries.

Your role
  • Develop project schedules, work breakdown structures, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate with survey, design, and geotechnical teams for project readiness.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Monitor day‑to‑day activities on site (earthworks, pavement layers, drainage, structures).
  • Ensure proper execution of embankment, sub‑base, base course, and bituminous layers.
  • Supervise construction of structures such as culverts, retaining walls, and minor bridges.
  • Ensure materials meet standards (IRC, MORTH, ASTM).
  • Conduct inspections, tests (Proctor, FDD, cube tests, asphalt testing), and record QC results.
  • Verify adherence to design specifications and approved methodologies.
  • Maintain daily progress reports, inspection checklists, and material logs.
  • Prepare work progress summaries and submit to project managers.
  • Track quantities for billing, measurements, and contractor payment certificates.
