Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
• Experience as a welder in a metal fabrication environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with safety standards and procedures related to metals.
• Ability to read and interpret technical plans and drawings.
• Strong eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity for handling heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine welding requirements.
• Set up welding machines per project specifications.
• Inspect welded surfaces to ensure quality and safety.
• Follow safety precautions while welding.
• Repair worn parts by welding additional material as needed.
• Select filler material appropriate to metal type.
• Assemble components using clamps and fixtures.
• Monitor machines to ensure consistent weld quality.
• Maintain all welding equipment and workspace.
