Job summary

Client of AIQU seeks an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. This fully remote role relies on Python, SQL and BigQuery to drive data-driven insights while ensuring performance, reliability and security of the data infrastructure.

Responsibilities include designing ETL/ELT pipelines, optimizing schemas, writing efficient queries, and collaborating with data scientists and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Strong proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow.
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience optimizing complex queries.
• Advanced Python programming skills for data processing and automation.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT workflows.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services.
• Implement and optimize data models and schemas in BigQuery.
• Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data transformation and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues and ensure data quality and reliability.
• Document data workflows, architectures and best practices.
• Implement data governance, security controls and compliance standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
