Job summary

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Registrar – Dermatology in Jeddah to provide comprehensive dermatology care via in-person and telemedicine platforms. The role includes managing acute and complex skin conditions, ensuring patient safety, and mentoring junior staff under consultant supervision.

The physician will deliver care across virtual and clinic settings, adhere to clinical guidelines, and contribute to teaching and quality improvement initiatives within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Medical degree MBBS or equivalent.
• Completion of dermatology residency/training.
• SCFHS registration as Registrar – Dermatology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual and in-person dermatology consultations.
• Diagnose and manage eczema, psoriasis, infection, hair and nail disorders.
• Manage dermatological emergencies and red flag conditions.
• Develop and adjust individualized treatment plans (topical and systemic).
• Ensure safe prescribing and monitoring of dermatological medications.
• Document consultations accurately in the EMR and coordinate follow-up care.
• Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.

The Registrar – Dermatology is a physician in advanced specialty training who delivers comprehensive dermatological care through in-person and telemedicine platforms. The role involves managing acute, chronic, and complex skin conditions, supporting clinical governance, mentoring junior staff when required, and contributing to high-quality, patient-centred dermatology services under consultant supervision

Virtual Patient Consultations and clinical Management:

• Conduct virtual dermatology consultation for adult and paediatric patients.
• Diagnose and manage common and complex dermatological conditions (e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, hair and nail disorder)
• Manage dermatological emergencies and red flag conditions, escalating accordingly.
• Develop and adjust individualize treatment plans, including topical and systemic therapies.
• Ensure safe prescribing and monitoring of dermatological medication.
• Document consultations accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Coordinate follow up care and referrals when needed.

Quality Assurance, Patient Safety, and Compliance:

• Adhere to dermatology clinical guidelines, ethical standards and telehealth regulations
• Ensure patient safety in all clinical interactions, including medication counselling and adverse effect monitoring.
• Report patient safety incident and near misses to the Quality department.
• Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives and guidelines update.

Professional Development and Teaching:

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in general dermatology.
• Attend CME, workshops and conferences.
• Participate in case discussion and academic activity.
• Support teaching and supervision of junior doctors when required.

Telehealth Platform Proficiency and Digital Care Delivery:

• Utilize teledermatology platform for video, image based, and synchronous consultation.
• Ensure high-quality dermatologic assessment using clinical images and patient- reported data.
• Maintaine accurate, secure digital records in compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Collabrate with IT reams to optimize teledermatology workflows.

Patient Experience and Satisfaction:

• Communicate diagnoses and management plans clearly and empathetically.
• Provide counselling on disease course, treatment expectations and skin care.
• Address patient concerns and feedback promptly.
• Promote adherence to treatment plans and follow up schedules.

Multidisciplinary and Consultant Collaboration:

• Collaborate with consultants, primary care physicians, pharmacist and allied health professionals.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions when required.
• Coordinate care for patients with systemic or complex dermatologic conditions.

Skills

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of dermatology residency/fellowship training.
• Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) classification and registration as Registrar – Dermatology.
• Strong clinical judgment and dermatology diagnostic skills.
• Experience in teledermatology is preferred.
• Proficiency in EMR systems and digital health platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
