Job summary

A reputable construction management firm based in Riyadh is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to analyze construction drawings and prepare accurate BOQs. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture Engineering and at least 3 years of industry experience. Responsibilities include communication with procurement for material availability and maintaining thorough documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is required. Working hours are Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Job description
  1. Analyze construction drawings and specifications to prepare accurate and detailed BOQs.
  2. Compare the BOQ with contract documents to ensure compliance and identify any discrepancies (review Quantities, Materials type and specs.)
  3. Calculate and document the bill of materials BOM & PR, required for the project, including detailed material specifications, dimensions and quantities.
  4. Communicate with planning and procurement to make sure of availability of material (dimensions, time frame, market cost as per quote), update on system BC and communicate with pricing and sales to have approval in updating the quotation.
  5. Coordinate with technical draftsman, regarding approximate quantities as per drawings; then review final as per APPROVED technical drawings (any technical drawing updates must be communicated to QS, and reference & version must be mentioned on BOM).
  6. Estimate the required time for the production and completion of each item in terms of production planning schedule, delivery terms, procurement of materials as per the contract specifications.
  7. Maintain thorough documentation of all calculations, estimations, and relevant correspondence, approved from Factory Manager. Prepare regular reports for management (pricing, Finance, procurement, project planning, High management) and stakeholders.
  8. Record in NCR list, any Non-conformity detected with any department (Estimation, Production, Procurement, Technical) in order to set corrective action with Factory manager and communicate them to Quality Assurance.
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Architecture Engineering or Equivalent

  • Able to work with Cad features like (Xref, SSM, Attributes & CAD ISO Standards)
Experience
  • 3 years in the industry of which at least exposed in production process, assembly process.
  • Must have technical knowledge on Architectural Wood standard (AWI), Material specifications, Material Characteristics and wooden joinery works to provide proficient shop drawing.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving; Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, strong database concepts and designing techniques.
  • Possesses good knowledge of different software systems, client/server architectures and various compatibility requirements.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients
