Overview
To ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of Food Safety and QHSE standards across the catering operations. The role is responsible for maintaining full compliance with regulatory, client, and Catrion QHSE requirements by conducting inspections, overseeing hygiene and safe work practices, delivering staff training, and supporting incident prevention and environmental stewardship. This position plays a key role in safeguarding product integrity, employee wellbeing, and operational efficiency while fostering a strong safety and food safety culture on site.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain QHSE standards across catering operations through routine inspections, monitoring hygiene practices, food handling procedures, pest control activities, temperature control measures, and compliance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, safe operating procedures (SOPs), chemical handling, equipment safety, fire safety measures, and emergency preparedness (first aid, evacuation, drills).
- Maintain and regularly update QHSE documentation, including risk assessments, SOPs, manuals, MSDS, calibration certificates, audit reports, checklists, and other statutory or client-required records.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits, documenting non-conformities, leading or assisting in incident/near-miss investigations, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly QHSE and Food Safety inspections, developing detailed reports for management and client submission, and ensuring follow-up on identified actions.
- Deliver QHSE and Food Safety training, including toolbox talks, on-the-job training, HACCP awareness, hygiene practices, and competency assessments; maintain proper training records for all staff.
- Monitor compliance with HACCP requirements, including CCP/OPRP verification, food safety logs, traceability, allergen control, waste management, and environmental sustainability practices; promote a strong food safety & safety culture on site.
- Coordinate with the Site Manager and QHSE Team in preparing annual departmental budgets related to QHSE requirements (training, equipment, calibration, PPE, pest control, etc.).
- Conduct site hazard assessments to ensure a safe, hazard-free working environment; verify that tools, equipment, and PPE are adequate, calibrated, and safe for use.
- Promote safe working practices across all catering operations, enforce safety guidelines, and respond promptly to employees’ QHSE concerns.
- Maintain situational awareness of active issues, emerging risks, and operational changes impacting QHSE performance.
- Participate in accident/incident investigations by gathering evidence, interviewing staff, preparing reports, and supporting the investigation team as required.
- Support the Asst. QHSE Manager and perform any additional QHSE-related tasks assigned to ensure effective and compliant operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Food Technology
- Experience: 3 Years
- Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Food Safety Management System (FSMS)
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS)
- Appropriate knowledge of systems in order to maintain OHS, Hygiene & Food Safety standards in the unit.
- Good oratory skills in order to communicate, provide hygiene training
