Job summary

Power International Holding (PIH) is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to ensure projects meet international quality standards and client expectations by implementing ISO 9001/QMS plans and quality procedures across construction activities.

The role involves assisting Senior QA/QC staff, preparing WIRs, inspecting materials, and maintaining QA/QC documentation, with emphasis on adherence to project plans and IMS policies. 5+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 9001 or IMS quality systems.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC processes and materials testing.
  • Strong documentation, reporting and audit skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project QA/QC Manager on implementing Quality Management System at site per the approved Project Quality Plan and IMS Procedures.
  • Prepare Work Inspection Requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit to consultant to cover all site activities.
  • Check incoming materials per project specs and approved submittals.
  • Monitor WIRs and test reports and update Quality Manager and site team on status.
  • Establish and monitor QA/QC Plans, Methods of Statements and Test Plans before project start and implement throughout to meet quality requirements.
  • Ensure control of document procedures and distribution of approved documents via the document control system.
  • Check ITP and ensure method statements and test plans are submitted per the approved ITP plan.
  • Verify inspections are carried out per plan and advise construction team for corrective action to avoid rejection; aim for first submission success rate ~90%.
  • Inspect materials internally before offering inspection, raise NCR for substandard materials, and include in monthly quality report.
  • Monitor WIR and test reports; update management, construction planning, quantity surveyors, and cost control on current status.
  • Maintain records of all work and material inspections; provide data in weekly progress meetings.
  • Record all test results and ensure availability for steel with mill certificates.
  • Ensure logs and test reports are available for all tests per the approved testing matrix.
  • Maintain daily concrete pour cards and provide copies to storekeeper and cost controller/QS.
  • Support HSE initiatives and participate in safety activities; contribute to incident reporting and IMS policy alignment.

Job description

The QA/QC Engineer ensures that work / projects are delivered based on good work practices and projectspecifications to guarantee completion of work within the given time limits with quality of work that meets oreven exceeds the clients expectations by implementing international quality standards plans and qualityprocedures in all the construction activities. Assists in developing the Project Quality Management System by establishing procedures, plans and work instruction as needed.

Job Responsibilities 1

Assist Project QA/QC Manager or Sr. QA/QC Engineer on implementing quality management system at site as per approved Project Quality Plan and IMS Procedures.

Prepare work inspection requests (WIR) for each construction activity and submit to consultant to ensure it covers all the construction activities done on site.

Check all incoming materials as per project specifications and approved material submittals.

Monitor WIRs and test reports and update the Quality Manager and site team on the status.

Establish and monitor control of QA/QC Plans, Method of Statements and Test Plans before commencement of the project and implementing it during the project in order to meet the project quality requirements and client’s expectations.

Ensure that control of document procedures is implemented and all approved documents from consultant are distributed through the document control system.

Check Inspection and Test Plan if available and all method statements and test plan are submitted for the consultant as per the approved ITP plan.

Prepare work inspection request (WIR) for each construction activity and submitted to consultant to ensure it covers all the construction activities done on site.

Job Responsibilities 2

Verify if work inspections are carried out as per the plan and advice the construction team for the corrective action to avoid the rejection of work and emphasizes that work inspection shall passed during the first submission with 90% rate.

Ensure all incoming materials are checked as per the project specifications and approved material submittals.

Inspect all materials internally before offering inspection to the consultant, raising the NCR to the supplier in case the substandard material is delivered, the record of inspection shall be included in the month Quality report.

Monitor WIR and test reports and update Management, Construction Team, Planning, Quantity Surveyors and Cost Control Departments about the current job status.

Maintain the records of all work and material inspection and provide the data in the weekly progress meetings.

Record all test results and ensure it's availability for steel along with the mill certificates.

Make sure that logs are available along with the test reports for all types of test as per the approved testing matrix.

Checks concrete pour cards are maintained on daily basis and copy is provided to the storekeeper to raise the SRV and to the cost controller/QS

Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies

Job Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of work related standards, specifications, and quality systems such as: ISO 9001, QCS, SMACNA,

ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).With enough technical experience on dealing with various QC issues. Knowledge of local

employment laws/regulations sufficient to analyze proposed policies. In-depth knowledge on the Quality

Management System (QMS) or Integrated Management System (IMS)

ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
