Job description

WSP is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to join our Supervision team for a major infrastructure project in Jeddah. The role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with project quality requirements, specifications, and international standards. The QA/QC Engineer will work closely with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to monitor, inspect, and control construction quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience, with at least 3–5 years in infrastructure supervision projects in the Middle East.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC practices, international standards, and specifications (ISO 9001, ASTM, ACI, BS/EN, etc.).
  • Experience in roadworks, bridges, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • Excellent report writing, inspection, and documentation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Membership of professional bodies (e.g., ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain the project’s Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with WSP and client requirements.
  • Review and approve contractors’ quality documents, including ITPs, method statements, checklists, and material submittals.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveillance to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Raise and follow up on non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspections, test results, and quality records.
  • Monitor materials testing, site workmanship, and ensure conformity to approved designs and standards.
  • Support the Resident Engineer in quality-related matters, including audits and progress reviews.
  • Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in final inspections, snagging, and handover processes to verify compliance.
