Role Purpose
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing all engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring delivery in accordance with approved specifications, schedules, quality standards, and client requirements. The role involves close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to achieve successful project execution while supporting the PMO Manager in meeting operational and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Engineering & Site Execution
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities for assigned projects involving Medium Voltage Generators, MV Switchgears (MV SWGRs), Transformers (TRFs), and RMUs.
- Ensure installation, testing, and commissioning activities comply with applicable electrical codes, standards, QA/QC procedures, and project specifications.
- Review and approve technical drawings, method statements, material submittals, and engineering deliverables related to medium voltage equipment.
- Perform overall quality control of site execution, including schedules, technical compliance, workmanship, and resource performance.
- Identify technical risks related to MV systems and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Project Coordination & Client Interface
- Act as the primary on-site technical focal point for clients, consultants, and subcontractors on matters related to MV electrical systems.
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities, subcontractor performance, and interface between MV equipment suppliers and installation teams.
- Support the PMO Manager by providing accurate technical input, progress updates, and risk assessments.
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Assign responsibilities and provide technical guidance to project engineers, supervisors, and site teams working on MV installations.
- Support and mentor site supervisory staff to ensure compliance with approved engineering practices and safety standards.
Documentation, Reporting & Follow-up
- Prepare and submit regular technical and progress reports to the PMO Manager.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including inspection records, test results, and site data related to MV equipment.
- Review and verify as-built drawings for Medium Voltage Generators, MV Switchgears, Transformers, and RMUs prior to project closeout.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 4–6 years of experience as a Project or Electrical Engineer with solid exposure to:
- Medium Voltage Generators
- MV Switchgears (MV SWGRs)
- Transformers (TRFs)
- Ring Main Units (RMUs)
- Proven experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects within site environments.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
