Job summary

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a Project Engineer to support project execution by managing technical documents, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring construction activities align with design.

You will review drawings, handle technical queries between site, engineering, and client, and assist in procurement, QA, and handover activities. This role requires strong communication, detail orientation, and technical problem solving on EPC/industrial projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in project/technical engineering on EPC or industrial construction projects.
• Experience reviewing drawings and coordinating technical queries on site and client interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage engineering drawings, specifications, and documents.
• Coordinate technical queries between site, engineering, and client.
• Track and control document submittals and approvals (transmittals, MDRs).
• Support material take-offs and technical input for procurement.
• Assist in constructability reviews and resolve design/field conflicts.
• Coordinate with QC to ensure technical compliance of installed works.
• Support preparation of method statements and inspection/test plans.
• Liaise with engineering, planning, and construction teams on technical matters.
• Track punch-list items through closure and assist handover of as-built drawings.
• Assist the Project Manager with technical reporting and handover activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Review and manage engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Coordinate technical queries (TQs) between site, engineering, and the client. Track and control document submittals and approvals (transmittals, MDRs). Support material take-offs and technical input for procurement. Assist in constructability reviews and resolution of design/field conflicts. Coordinate with QC to ensure technical compliance of installed works. Support preparation of method statements and inspection/test plans. Liaise with engineering, planning, and construction teams on technical matters. Track technical punch-list items through to closure. Support as-built drawing preparation and final documentation handover. Assist the Project Manager with technical reporting and presentations. Provide technical support during commissioning and handover activities.

Requirements

Experience: +5 years of experience in a project/technical engineering role on EPC or industrial construction projects.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
