Job summary

PE Global Energy & Technology in Saudi Arabia seeks an experienced Product Quality Engineer to drive quality, integrity and compliance of refined and petrochemical products across the production process.

You will collaborate with operations, process engineering, laboratory and commercial teams to optimise processes, lead QA/QC procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-moving refinery environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in product quality assurance within the refining or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong understanding of refined and petrochemical products and their quality requirements.
  • Experience with laboratory testing methodologies, analytical techniques and quality control equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with refinery and petrochemical regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance and quality control procedures for refined and petrochemical products.
  • Monitor and evaluate product quality parameters including viscosity, density, flash point, distillation characteristics, chemical composition and other critical properties.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, sample analysis and product inspections to ensure compliance with internal specifications and industry standards.
  • Investigate off-specification products and quality incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Work closely with process engineers and production teams to optimise operating conditions and improve product quality and plant performance.
  • Analyse quality trends, prepare technical reports and communicate findings to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming raw materials meet quality requirements.
  • Support customers by investigating product quality concerns and resolving technical issues and claims.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality, environmental and safety regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Deliver training and guidance to operations personnel on quality control procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product quality, improve efficiency and reduce defects through continuous improvement projects.

Are you an experienced Product Quality Engineer looking to work within one of the world's leading integrated refining and petrochemical operations?

We are seeking a highly motivated Product Quality Engineer to play a key role in ensuring the quality, integrity and compliance of refined and petrochemical products throughout the production process.
