Job Purpose
The Product Line Manager is responsible for managing and growing a defined product line throughout its lifecycle. The role focuses on defining product strategy, roadmap, and positioning to meet market needs and business objectives. The Product Line Manager works closely with sales, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to ensure successful product delivery, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Planning – Define and manage the product line vision, strategy, and roadmap; align product direction with business goals and market opportunities.
- Product Lifecycle Management – Manage the product lifecycle from concept, launch, growth to retirement; ensure timely product updates, enhancements, and end‑of‑life planning.
- Market & Customer Analysis – Analyze market trends, customer needs and competitive landscape; identify opportunities for new products or product improvements.
- Cross‑Functional Coordination – Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams; ensure clear communication of product requirements and priorities.
- Pricing & Commercial Management – Support pricing strategies, packaging and commercial positioning; monitor product profitability and revenue performance.
- Go‑To‑Market & Enablement – Support product launches and go‑to‑market activities; provide product training and support to sales and internal teams.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting – Track product performance using KPIs and metrics; prepare product reports, business cases and executive presentations.
- Continuous Improvement – Gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to improve products; drive ongoing optimization of product offerings and processes.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Experience managing product lines or portfolios in a technology‑driven environment.
- Exposure to end‑to‑end product lifecycle management.
- Experience working in cross‑functional and matrix organizations.
- Familiarity with market analysis, competitive positioning, and pricing models.
- Experience supporting product launches and go‑to‑market activities.
- Experience preparing business cases, roadmaps, and product performance reports.
