Job description

The Process Associate - CAC provides essential process engineering guidance and technical expertise to operational departments, with the overarching goal of ensuring safe and sustained plant performance.

Key Accountabilities
  • Offer technical input in EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability) activities such as MOCs (Management of Change), PHAs (Process Hazard Analysis), HazOps (Hazard and Operability Studies), and PSERs (Pre-Startup EHSS Reviews). Verify EHSS process-related calculations.
  • Assist operational departments in achieving Sustainability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct requested studies to evaluate the condition of operating plants, aiming to enhance safety performance and meet production capacity/targets, leveraging the PESR system.
  • Analyze emerging technical developments in process engineering to propose enhancements in existing facilities. Serve as the focal point for addressing process-related technical service requests (TSRs).
  • Regularly monitor critical operating parameters to evaluate equipment performance concerning optimal operation. Develop proposals for plant load optimization when applicable.
  • Support operational departments in process project activities, including the preparation of process-related design packages (CDPs), CBP (Capital Budget Proposal) reviews, and related plant process modifications.
  • Provide assistance in process feasibility studies, BEDD (Basic Engineering Design Data), PDP (Process Design Package), FEED (Front End Engineering Design), detailed engineering, execution, run tests, commissioning, and startup of site projects to ensure compliance.
  • Provide necessary technical support in Mega projects when involved.
  • Participate in the startups and shutdowns of operating plants, as well as support investigations of unscheduled plant interruptions.
  • Engage in process-related Reliability Methodologies of operating plants.
  • Conduct studies on process chronic problems and offer short and long-term solution proposals.
  • Represent PETROKEMYA in communication with licensors and other SABIC entities, exchanging expertise and knowledge to resolve technical problems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience as a process engineer in the petrochemical industry, specifically in CAC (Catalysts and TEAL) plants involved with HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene), and mLLDPE (Metallocene Linear Low-Density Polyethylene).
