About the job PHP (LARAVEL) TECH LEAD - AGILE, PRODUCT, CONSUMER APPS

We are seeking an experienced Tech Lead to act as a hands‑on technical authority and design leader. This role is not a people line‑management position, but requires strong leadership through technical direction, solution design, quality governance, and team enablement. The Tech Lead will work closely with the Product Lead and Engineering teams to design scalable, high‑availability solutions, guide developers through Agile delivery, and ensure engineering excellence across high‑volume, mission‑critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Solution Design

• Own and govern technical solution design, architecture decisions, and quality standards within the assigned product area.
• Act as the technical right‑hand partner to the Product Lead, translating product vision into scalable, reliable technical solutions.
• Review and validate designs, code quality, performance, and non‑functional requirements.
• Provide technical guidance across the full development lifecycle without being hands‑on day‑to‑day.

Agile Delivery & Team Enablement

• Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
• Mentor and upskill developers, bringing teams along through coaching, guidance, and best practices.
• Ensure Agile principles are genuinely understood and applied, not just followed mechanically.
• Support interim or developing Tech Leads, helping raise overall engineering maturity.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, QA, and other stakeholders to improve delivery outcomes and relationships.
• Foster a collaborative, respectful, and high‑trust engineering culture.
• Act as a technical escalation point and problem‑solver across teams.

Platform & Performance Focus

• Design and govern solutions for high‑transaction, high‑availability, high‑volume systems.
• Ensure scalability, resilience, performance, and reliability for platforms handling large volumes of low‑value transactions.
• Focus on uptime, latency, timing, and quality in always‑on production environments.

Required Technical Expertise

• Backend: PHP (Laravel), JavaScript
• Frontend / Mobile: React Native
• Databases: MongoDB
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and high‑availability architectures
• Experience designing systems for high‑throughput, business‑critical applications
• Familiarity with CI/CD, quality controls, and modern engineering practices

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer, or Engineering Architect in product‑led environments.
• Strong ability to design solutions and review code, even if not coding daily.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and how to lead teams within Agile frameworks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to bring teams together, improve collaboration, and positively influence engineering culture.
• Experience in high‑volume digital platforms is strongly preferred.

Preferred Background

Candidates with experience in high‑traffic, always‑on consumer platforms are highly desirable, including but not limited to:

• Online travel, ticketing, food delivery, or marketplace platforms
• Examples: Hotels.com, Ticketmaster, Trivago, Talabat, Snoonu, HungerStation, or similar high‑volume applications
