Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Oversee clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
  • Oversee planning/coordinating patient scheduling to ensure timely acceptance of patients and adequate staffing levels.
  • Demonstrate effective use of supplies and staff labor hours.
  • Perform duties as assigned to meet the clinic's patient care or operational needs.
  • Coordinate and assist in developing standards and methods of measuring patient care services, including a chronological record of services provided to patients as required by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain chronological, thorough, and appropriate documentation in the patient record of all treatments, activities, and communication with the patient, physician, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promote quality management programs through education and involvement of staff and patients in outcomes, as well as the overall responsibility to achieve corporate goals for quality. Leads QAPI meetings and quality improvement committees.
  • Collaborate to achieve the program’s target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with quality patient care and Company goals.
  • Review all incident reports; make recommendations and take action relative to incidents as appropriate; report at monthly QAPI meeting.
  • Supervise and manage the provision of safe patient care.
  • Ensure tracking and implementation of regulations in Saudi law, including health care professionals' practice requirements.
  • Assure the clinic complies with all applicable Saudi Laws and Regulations.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and follow-up of Plans of Correction required for internal and external surveys.
  • Assume the Head Nurse’s responsibilities to ensure efficient, safe dialysis, per regulations.
  • Execute the responsibility of alternate facility as delegated by the Governing Body.
  • Conduct and/or participate in formal and informal meetings with the governing body, Regional Director, Medical Director, Clinical Services Director, and the staff as delegated. Assure that appropriate staff meetings, in-service education meetings, and team patient care planning meetings are held monthly as delegated. Assure the Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement Program is always current as delegated.
  • Establish, maintain, and submit all required records and reports concerning staff, patients, and the center's operational affairs.
  • Monitor continuously and ensure a safe and sanitary physical environment is maintained throughout the facility, that all equipment is maintained and functions properly, and that adequate and appropriate inventory levels of all supplies are available and used correctly.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment and supplies to meet current laws and regulations.
  • Respond to all emergencies in the clinic. Familiarize with emergency equipment and all emergency operational procedures.
  • Ensure knowledge and understanding of the water treatment and mechanisms of the facility's equipment.
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with the Medical Director and Physicians.
  • Promote Values of Excellence, Partnership, Inclusion, and Compassion; develop effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
  • Partner with the Regional Operations Director and Human Resources Department in interviewing and hiring center staff.
  • Ensure all staff personnel meet the required qualifications for the position held and perform duties within limits established by and in accordance with company policy/procedures, health care professionals' practice acts, and applicable Saudi laws and regulations.
  • Partner with the Regional Operations Director to maintain effective personnel management and employee relations, including evaluating the performance of all personnel, approving and submitting all hours worked, and counseling and disciplining employees.
  • Train and development of all personnel.
  • Serve as a resource/subject matter expert for patient needs and concerns, staff education, and in-service sessions as necessary.
  • Uphold management goals of the corporation by leading staff in team concepts and promoting a team effort.
  • Communicate expectations effectively; accept accountability and hold others accountable for performance.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.
Education Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Bachelor or High Diploma Degree in Nursing (For Non-Saudi).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or two (2) years Associate Degree/Diploma in Nursing (For Saudis).
Experience Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of hemodialysis experience (Ten (10) years of hemodialysis is preferred).
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Nurse Manager position.
Other Requirements:
  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from a country of origin.
  • Certified and registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties is required.
  • Certified in BLS and preferably in ACLS.
  • Successfully passed the hemodialysis training program is an advantage.
  • Passed color vision or color blindness test.
