Job summary

National Medical Care is seeking an experienced Health Information Manager to supervise the Medical Reports department in a large hospital. The role involves planning and maintaining medical report systems, ensuring JCIA/CBAHI compliance, and coordinating with physicians for research and reporting.

The candidate should have 5+ years in a supervisory post within a 350-bed hospital, excellent English communication, and strong knowledge of medical terminology and health statistics.

Qualifications

Job description

Ensures through his action, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Hospital and Clinics

Plan, develop and maintain a system of Medical Report to attain the hospital goals and meet standards of CBAI I l & JCIA.

Prepares technical reports reflecting the volume of work, procedures utilized and Medical Reports services: coordinate the preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress. Adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

Implements policies and procedures for processing/handling medical Report & reports (OP & Il)). Release of patient information. Incomplete medical Reports, and diagnostic data services (JCIA& CBAIII standard).

Maintain sufficient inventory of materials and equipment for performance of duties and maintain standard Medical Report Department equipment with budgetary guidelines.

Assure implementing Quality Assurance and Safety to comply with internal and external regulations.

Train. Supervise and evaluate the performance of Medical Report Technicians, develop work performance standards. Schedule/assigns work and priorities and provide technical expertise as needed or requested.

Organization and operation of Medical Reports services (OP & IP) in relation to the standards and in relation to new technology, e.g. computers, etc. and make appropriate revisions.

Provides for a staff education and development program for new hire orientation, teaching, new procedures and techniques. Upgrading skills. Approves or recommends annual leave, educational leave, and training assignments.

Taking an active role in helping the medical staff comply with the JCIA & CBAHI requirements for medical Report review.

Supplying data and assisting physicians in conducting research studies.

Recommends employment promotion and release of personnel.

Interfaces with the other departments to coordinate and resolve problems. Submits monthly reports to Hospital Administration and any additional reports as required.

Submits Health Care Statistics to Manager Health Information Management (OP &IP) monthly. Quarterly. Half yearlong and annually.

Maintain Medical Report code of ethics

Performs applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of the employee is knows ledge. Skills and duties.

Experience:

Required

(5) years’ experience in a supervisor post in 350 beds hospital.

Fluency in verbal and written English.

Must possess complete familiarity with required medical Report documentation, Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Pathology and Health care statistics. Competent knows ledge and understanding of current medical records functions guidelines and principles.

  • Ability to understand diverse documentation style and read various diagnostic reports contained in the Medical Report.

Ability to operate computerized patient information system and the personal

Computer.
