Job summary

ACWA Power is seeking a Mechanic – Steam and Gas to safely install, maintain, inspect and repair heavy rotating machinery used in power generation. You will collaborate with outage managers, field service engineers, and supervisors to ensure safe, efficient operations, travel to site locations, and adapt to shift work in challenging environments.

The role requires a technical diploma and hands-on experience with pumps, motors, fans, generators and turbines, with a willingness to work on

Qualifications

• Diploma in Technical Field, Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred
• Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines.
• Must possess minimum experience for utilization of tooling
• Good understanding of latest technology and innovation
• Knowledge of applicable legal / quality / HSSE requirements
• Good knowledge of power plant operations, maintenance, its equipment’s, practices, procedures
• Willing to travel
• Willing to work on international sites, in hardship locations and shift work

Responsibilities

• Read schematic drawings and technical documentation to determine proper work procedures.
• Dismantle and assemble machinery and equipment using a variety of hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
• Move machinery, parts and equipment using hoists, cranes, chain falls and trucks.
• Align machinery and equipment using hoists, squares, micrometers, dial indicators or based on laser alignment equipment specialist recommendations.
• Perform machine and component inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, rules, calipers,
• Responsible for control of tools, equipment and supplies

JOB PURPOSE:

The primary responsibility of the Mechanic – Steam and Gas - is to safely accomplish the installation, maintenance, inspection and repair of the heavy rotating machinery used mainly in power generation applications. Turbine Mechanics. Work closely with Supervisors, HSE personnel, and the Operations Department to achieve these goals.

Internal: Needs to work closely with the Outage Managers, Field Service Engineers and Supervisors

External: Needs to build a rapport with plant crews and contractors
