Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering is seeking a senior commissioning engineer for STATCOM systems in Saudi Arabia. The role involves reviewing system documentation, coordinating installation, pre-commissioning, energization, and functional testing to ensure grid compatibility and performance.

The candidate should have 12–15 years of STATCOM commissioning experience, with OEM experience highly desirable, and will interact with the engineering and operations teams for successful handover.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Power Engineering. 12–15 years commissioning experience with STATCOM systems.
• OEM commissioning experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review STATCOM system documentation and provide input to engineering team.
• Verify installation quality and perform pre-commissioning checks.
• Coordinate energization and functional commissioning.
• Support grid compliance and performance tests; validate protection functions.
• Prepare commissioning and performance test reports; train O&M personnel.

A Engineering Review

Review of STATCOM system documentation and provide input to engineering team based on experience

• Power circuit diagrams control philosophy protection settings Cooling auxiliary power amp and harmonic filter configuration Substation protection schemes PPC and SCADA systems Participating in FAT and control validation exercises

B Installation amp Pre-Commissioning

Verify installation quality of

• Voltage source converters VSC Cooling systems air liquid Control and protection panels Conduct pre-commissioning checks

C Energization amp Functional Commissioning

Coordinate stepwise energization
