Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

  • The Basic Job of process operator is to run the Process line and equipment systematically and effectively, achieving the production targets by increasing line efficiency and minimizing waste.
  • Gather hourly data of process control checks, conduct quality wall meetings, maintain hygiene and housekeeping.
  • Alert on food safety hazards and highlight issues to Direct Managers.
  • Summarize daily material usage and calculate basic material efficiency, seasoning and oil efficiency in daily summary reports.
  • Monitor and minimize energy usage (water, electricity, gas).
  • Manage the process workers at assigned stations and maintain good manufacturing practice at all times within the area.
  • Operate, control and maintain processing equipment to convert raw materials into final product in accordance with KPIs.
Principal Accountabilities
  • Make decisions to maximise output in terms of yield / conversion.
  • Repair and maintain necessary processing equipment to sustain line efficiency.
  • Have authority to stop production in consultation with the Laboratory Technician if production is out of specification.
  • Run the line systematically and efficiently; perform hourly process control checks; conduct quality wall meetings.
  • Ensure raw materials are available for the production run near the line; ensure equipment hygiene and good working condition.
  • Maintain line/ workstation in good condition; ensure line reaches required efficiency set by the business.
  • Achieve material efficiency targets; highlight day-to-day issues to Direct Managers.
  • Collect and report material wastages and summarize material usage daily.
  • Inform Engineering for equipment maintenance or repair through MP2.
  • Manage process workers (breaks, cleaning during changeovers, time in/time out).
  • Maintain running patrols and conduct checklists; report health hazards to immediate Direct Manager.
  • Ensure quality products are produced at all times and communicate daily issues to other shifts.
  • Support IPS audits and Food safety audits; focus on energy utilization (water, gas, electricity).
  • Participate in continual improvement of the EHS Management System and ensure compliance with PepsiCo GEHSMS and relevant EHS standards.
Qualifications

Knowledge / Skill

  • Industrial training institute (ITI) graduate or equivalent.

  • Ability to operate process equipment independently.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of working experience in a manufacturing processing environment, this may be waived in lieu of tertiary background.
