Overview

Junior Urban Planner – Master Planning (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) – Full-time employment with Parsons Corporation.

The role supports planning studies and development strategies for residential, commercial, transportation, industrial, and community uses by gathering data, reviewing planning information, coordinating with stakeholders, and contributing to practical urban development recommendations.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia | Industry: Architecture & Planning | Salary: 12,000–18,000 SAR (subject to final offer)

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planning assignments requiring conventional architectural, urban, and environmental planning knowledge.
  • Gather, compile, and analyze data related to economic, social, environmental, and physical factors affecting land use.
  • Support land‑use planning for residential, commercial, transportation, industrial, public‑realm, and community development areas.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, land‑planning specialists, and development professionals.
  • Assist in developing recommendations for land arrangements, physical facilities, urban layouts, and community infrastructure.
  • Prepare planning inputs, technical notes, background research, maps, schedules, and coordination documents.
  • Support public involvement activities, stakeholder workshops, consensus‑building sessions, and planning coordination meetings.
  • Review and evaluate environmental impact reports and planning‑related documentation.
  • Assist with coordination of reuse, redevelopment, and master‑planning studies.
  • Support preparation of urban planning reports, presentations, meeting records, and stakeholder materials.
  • Coordinate information from technical teams to support integrated planning recommendations.
  • Assist in reviewing planning constraints, development opportunities, site conditions, and community requirements.
  • Support coordination between urban planning, architecture, transportation, infrastructure, environmental, and development teams.
  • Help track planning actions, stakeholder comments, review outcomes, and follow‑up requirements.
  • Coordinate with technicians or lower‑level planning support staff when required.
  • Perform additional planning and project‑related responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, City Planning, Town Planning, Architecture, Environmental Planning, or a related field.
  • Saudi National candidate required.
  • 3–7 years of related work experience in urban planning, city planning, town planning, environmental planning, land‑use planning, or master‑planning support.
  • Working knowledge of urban planning, environmental planning, architectural practices, planning procedures, and land development principles.
  • Ability to gather, organize, analyze, and present planning data clearly and accurately.
  • Understanding of economic, social, physical, and environmental factors that influence land use and urban development.
  • Experience supporting public involvement meetings, workshops, stakeholder coordination, or consensus‑building activities is beneficial.
  • Ability to review environmental impact reports and planning documentation.
  • Planner certification is preferred at this level.
  • Proficiency in PC‑based tools and software packages commonly used in urban and environmental planning assignments.
  • Strong communication, coordination, research, documentation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with local authorities, consultants, development specialists, technical teams, and multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
  • Detail‑oriented approach with strong focus on planning quality, stakeholder coordination, documentation accuracy, and practical development outcomes.
