Job summary

Perfect Vision in Dammam is seeking an IoT Engineer to bridge field devices with the platform that turns their data into value. You will design how thousands of devices connect, authenticate, provision, and stream data securely at scale.

The role focuses on building the connectivity layer, data pipelines, and fleet-management tooling, collaborating with embedded and backend teams to optimize security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, Software or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of IoT experience.
• Experience with cloud IoT services (AWS/Azure/Google).
• Strong knowledge of MQTT, HTTP; CoAP a plus.
• Proficient in Python/Node.js/Go/Java for backend/edge.
• Familiarity with data streams (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).

Responsibilities

• Design the device-to-cloud connectivity layer using MQTT and cloud IoT services.
• Build provisioning, identity, and lifecycle workflows for large device populations.
• Develop ingestion pipelines and data processing for telemetry.
• Implement device security, mutual TLS and certificate management.
• Create edge and cloud logic for command and OTA orchestration.
• Monitor connectivity health, implement observability and alerts.
• Collaborate with embedded and backend teams on APIs and data storage.
• Optimize cellular data usage, cost and SIM management across the fleet.

About The Role

You will be the bridge between our telematics devices in the field and the platform that turns their data into value. As IoT (Internet of Things) Engineer you will design how thousands of devices connect, authenticate, provision, and stream data reliably and securely — building the connectivity layer, data pipelines, and fleet-management tooling that keep our connected estate healthy at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and operate the device-to-cloud connectivity layer using MQTT, and cloud IoT services (AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or equivalent).
• Build device provisioning, identity, and lifecycle/fleet-management workflows for large device populations.
• Develop ingestion pipelines and data processing that feed telemetry into our platform and analytics.
• Implement device security: mutual TLS, certificate/key management, and secure onboarding.
• Create edge and cloud logic for command-and-control, remote configuration, and OTA orchestration.
• Monitor connectivity health, build observability/alerting, and drive down device downtime.
• Partner with embedded engineers on data contracts and with backend/platform teams on APIs and storage.
• Optimise cellular data usage, cost, and SIM/connectivity management across the fleet.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent, with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with an IoT cloud platform (AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT, or similar).
• Strong grasp of IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP; CoAP a plus) and networking fundamentals.
• Programming proficiency in Python, Node.js, Go, or Java for backend/edge services.
• Understanding of device security, certificates, and identity management.
• Experience with data pipelines, message queues, or streaming (e.g. Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).

Nice to Have

• Experience managing cellular connectivity, APNs, and SIM fleets.
• Cloud infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with time-series databases and telemetry visualisation.
• Prior work with telematics, automotive, or asset-tracking data.
