Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Inventory & Business Analyst to optimize inventory performance and provide business and operational analysis to support decision-making. The role focuses on inventory planning, forecasting, KPI management, reporting, and process improvement to drive efficiency and business performance.

You will handle inventory planning across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods; perform variance analysis, financial reporting, and data-driven insights; develop dashboards using ERP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations Management or Engineering.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience in inventory management, business analysis, or supply chain reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and business reporting tools.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Planning & Analysis: Maintain optimal inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods while minimizing stockouts, excess inventory and obsolescence.
  • Inventory analysis: Analyze inventory trends, aging, slow-moving stock, and turnover performance.
  • Clinical/Financial insights: Identify opportunities to improve inventory efficiency and working capital performance.
  • Reconciliation & reviews: Support inventory reconciliation activities and inventory performance reviews.
  • Financial reporting: Support inventory-related financial reporting, valuation, provisions, adjustments.
  • Variance analysis: Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and POR targets to identify performance gaps.
  • Insights & dashboards: Investigate variances and provide meaningful insights; develop analysis to support decisions.
  • Reporting & KPI: Prepare and maintain inventory, operational, and business performance reports; monitor KPIs and dashboards.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service to improve processes.
  • Planning & forecasting: Support business planning, forecasting, and operational review processes.

Job Summary

The Inventory & Business Analyst is responsible for optimizing inventory performance and providing business and operational analysis to support effective decision-making. This role focuses on inventory planning, forecasting, KPI management, business reporting, and process improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiency and improve business performance.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Inventory Planning & Analysis

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels across raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods while minimizing stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
  • Analyze inventory trends, aging, slow-moving inventory, excess and obsolete (E&O) stock, and inventory turnover performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory efficiency and working capital performance.
  • Support inventory reconciliation activities and inventory performance reviews.

Business & Financial Analysis

  • Support inventory-related financial reporting, inventory valuation, provisions, adjustments, and inventory control activities.
  • Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and POR targets to identify performance gaps and business risks.
  • Investigate operational and financial variances and provide meaningful insights to management.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze business and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas.
  • Develop analysis and recommendations to support informed business decisions.

Reporting & KPI Management

  • Prepare and maintain inventory, operational, and business performance reports.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including inventory value, inventory turnover (ITO), inventory accuracy, shortages, aging, and E&O inventory.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports using ERP and business data.
  • Provide regular updates and business insights to leadership teams.

Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Support

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data quality, automation, and operational processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory management and business performance.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, Customer Service, and other functions to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Support business planning, forecasting, and operational review processes.
