A leading event services company in Riyadh is seeking a VRF / VRV HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot HVAC systems for various projects. The role requires strong technical knowledge and significant experience with VRF/VRV systems. The technician will ensure compliance with safety standards and work closely with site teams. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a relevant field and 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity, contributing to successful event operations.

Position Description

Job Title: VRF / VRV HVAC Technician

Direct Reports: N/A

Location: Riyadh,KSA (Site-Based)

Contract Type: Full-Time

Job Objective:

To install, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot VRF/VRV HVAC systems across Arena’s event, modular, and temporary building projects. The VRF/VRV HVAC Technician ensures all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and Arena quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install VRF/VRV indoor and outdoor units, refrigerant piping, insulation, drainage, and control wiring.
  • Assist in system commissioning, testing, vacuuming, pressure testing, and refrigerant charging.
  • Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Coordinate with site teams to align HVAC installation with structural and architectural works.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on VRF/VRV systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults related to compressors, controls, sensors, valves, and refrigerant circuits.
  • Carry out system performance checks and adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and operational issues during live events or handover periods.
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Comply with Arena’s HSEQ policies and site safety requirements at all times.
  • Ensure proper handling of refrigerants and tools in line with safety and environmental standards.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow approved Work Method Statements (WMS).
  • Report hazards, defects, and unsafe conditions immediately.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete daily job reports, maintenance logs, and commissioning checklists.
  • Record test results, refrigerant usage, and service activities accurately.
  • Support preparation of handover documentation and service reports.
Coordination & Support
  • Work closely with HVAC Supervisors, MEP Engineers, and subcontractors on site.
  • Support installation and maintenance of other HVAC equipment if required (AHUs, FCUs, ducted systems).
  • Assist with site inspections and client walk-throughs as needed.
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong technical knowledge of VRF/VRV HVAC systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings and schematics.
  • Proficient in fault finding, testing, and commissioning procedures.
  • Good understanding of safety practices related to HVAC and refrigerants.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in fast-paced environments.
Education & Experience
  • Diploma or technical certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience with VRF/VRV systems.
  • Experience working on events, modular buildings, or commercial projects preferred.
  • Familiarity with major VRF/VRV manufacturers’ systems is an advantage.
  • Valid SA driving license preferred.
