Job summary

ZRVS in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Hazmat Officer to support hazardous materials safety, handling, storage, and emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.

The role requires formal Hazmat/OHS qualifications, GCC experience preferred, and strong knowledge of handling procedures, communication, reporting, and emergency response skills to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Hazmat Management or related field required.
• Experience as Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist.
• GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
• Good communication, reporting and emergency response skills.
• Ability to work in a healthcare/medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage safe handling, storage, transport and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and HSE requirements.
• Identify hazardous materials and assess risks.
• Maintain documentation, safety records and inventories.
• Support emergency response for chemical incidents.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Ensure PPE and emergency equipment are available and used.
• Coordinate with teams during incidents and emergencies.
• Provide safety awareness and handling procedure training as needed.
• Report safety violations or incidents.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable HSE requirements.
• Identify hazardous materials and assess associated risks.
• Maintain proper documentation, safety records, and hazardous material inventories.
• Support emergency response procedures involving chemical and hazardous material incidents.
• Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Ensure appropriate use and availability of PPE and emergency response equipment.
• Coordinate with relevant teams during hazardous material incidents and emergency situations.
• Conduct safety awareness and handling procedures for employees where required.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report safety violations or incidents.

Requirements

• Relevant Diploma / Degree or professional qualification in Hazmat Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Emergency Response, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as a Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist.
• GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
• Good communication, reporting, and emergency response skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a healthcare/medical environment.
