Job summary

Jensen Hughes seeks a Senior Fire Engineer (Fire Alarms and other Electrical systems) based in Khobar to lead design, construction and testing phases of modern active fire protection systems. You will engineer electrical/electronic systems and advise on regulatory approvals across the Middle East.

The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical/electronic engineering with 10+ years in fire alarm design and life safety, plus strong report writing and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical or related engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and layout of electrical, mainly fire alarm systems.
  • FLS experience preferred.
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present clear and technically sound engineering strategies and assessment results.

Responsibilities

  • Verify design of electrical, fire protection and life safety systems including alarm and detection, mass notification, suppression and life safety.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, assessments and design review cycles.
  • Review submission packs for regulatory compliance including Building Code reviews.
  • Plan and perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.
  • Plan resource and direct engineering activities for projects administered by the engineer.

Overview – Role

The Senior Fire Engineer (Fire Alarms and other Electrical systems) Will be a professional in the field of Fire Protection and Life Safety consulting with demonstrable experience in the design, construction and testing / commissioning phases of modern active fire protection systems and will be responsible for engineering design and modification activities related to electrical & electronic circuits, systems, and equipment. May involve the installation, operation & maintenance of electrical systems and equipment in the field of fire and life safety.

Based in Khobar, this role will be responsible for supporting a wide range of projects across the Middle East.

This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment and advance your career within a supportive and diverse team.A verifiable and demonstrated knowledge of design practices and approvals in the Middle East for Building Code and Life Safety requirements is a key requisite for this role. This also extends to the ability to engage and liaise with regulatory and approving authorities at various stages of design, construction and handover of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verification of design of electrical, fire protection and life safety, and specialty engineering systems including fire alarm and detection systems, mass notification, suppression, smoke control, and special hazard systems.
  • Preparation and presentation of technical reports, assessments and design review cycles.
  • Reviewing relevant submission packs for compliance with regulatory requirements, including Building Code reviews and analyses.
  • Planning and helping perform site surveys to inspect and evaluate building features and systems.
  • Planning resource and directing engineering activities for projects directly administered by the Engineer
Requirements and Qualifications
  • An accredited bachelor’s degree in electrical /Electronic, or related engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design and layout of electrical , mainly fire alarm systems
  • FLS experience preferred
  • Excellent report writing and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present clear and technically sound engineering strategies, assessment review results with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
